Marlon Davidson drafted by the Atlanta Falcons
Marlon Davidson, a defensive end at Auburn University, elected to play his senior year for the Tigers rather than declare for the NFL Draft. While the decision delayed his inevitable NFL career, Davidson chose to finish his education; a promise the SEC standout made—and has now fulfilled—to his late mother.
Davidson earned All-SEC, first-team honors for his senior season. The four-year starter’s talent was on full-display: Davidson recorded 48 tackles, 7.5 sacks, and forced 2 fumbles.
The Atlanta Falcons drafted Davidson in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft (47th overall). Davidson’s athleticism and explosiveness will be a valuable addition to Atlanta’s defensive line. The Falcons also plan to utilize Davidson’s versatility—that is, his ability to switch between DE and tackle—in the upcoming season.
